Computerized Station Control

I was originally licensed back in the 60’s as WN0MFM and a bit later as WA0MFM after passing my general. I worked primarily 40 meter CW in those days. Unfortunately, I let my license expire and took a nearly 40 year hiatus from the hobby until 2007. I was re-licensed as KE5NOC but wanted a ‘0’ call for nostalgic reasons so wound up with W0KYZ. I have been back on the air since August 2007 and I work mainly side band on 40, 20, and 17 meters.

I relocated as of July 2009 to a better location and have a new 75 foot crank-up tilt-over tower with a 3 element SteppIR. Station equipment includes an IC-7000, a FlexRadio 5000, Palstar AT-Auto, an Ameritron AL-82, some W2IHT audio gear with a Heil PR781, and a 3 screen computer system. I also became a VE at my local ham club’s request shortly after passing my Extra and I enjoy helping with the exams and seeing new people enter the hobby.
